My husband saw four grebes while he was fishing on the St. Croix River (Minnesota side) tonight around 6:00 pm. They looked to him to be eared or red-necked, but flew before he was able to get a close look at them.They were about 1 mile north of Carpenter Nature Center and flew east. (They were definitely NOT pied-billed grebes) Jennifer Vieth
