Today, Sunday May 6th, at the Ironton sewer treatment ponds, Steve & Jo Blanich 
& Warren Nelson saw 2 ruddy ducks along  with several lesser scaups, common 
goldeneyes, & buffleheads, 14 Caspian terns, 2 greater yellowlegs, several pair 
spotted sandpipers, & 4 water pipits.
At 2:40 p.m. 4 cranes were observed flying high to the north of the ponds. 
Three cranes were sandhill cranes & the crane leading the group was white with 
black wingtips, a whooping crane.  The birds were observed for approximately 5 
minutes, first flying easterly, then circling back westerly.
