Some may have come in yesterday, but we finally had a reasonable wave of migrants this morning. Seen between Schroeder and Tofte:
Marsh wren - doing its best to disappear in a very narrow stand of cattails in ditch along Highway 61 Empidonax flycatcher - not singing, appeared most like Alder Red-eyed vireo - many singing, saw few. Heard no Blue-headed, saw no Philadelphia vireos. Nashville W. Possible Tennessee W., heard but not sure of it. Common Yellowthroat Magnolia W. - at least 2, thought I heard more Blackburnian W. - saw 2 Chestnut-sided W. - one singing about every 50 feet along one stretch of trail. Only one brown thrush - a Hermit Bluebirds - at least 8, most appeared to be last year's youngsters, in groups of 2 or 3. Sparrows - White-throats paired up and beginning nesting, ditto for Song and Chipping. Saw one Clay-colored. Last saw White-crowned yesterday, had one Harris' Sp. on Wednesday, also Lincoln's. Blue Jays that appeared in numbers last week seem to be pairing up and staying around. Carol Tveekrem, Schroeder
