Spent an hour and a half scanning Lake Superior at 31st Street also called Lafayette Square.
Highlight: -adult Arctic Tern flew mixed in with some Common Terns. -pure grey mantle -grayish belly. -look pot bellied in fly in comparison to the Common Tern flying nearby. -shorter neck compared to Common Tern -classic dark primary edging seen from below the primaries. Other Birds at Park Pt: -3 Red-throated Loons @ Lafayette Square -Gadwalls (3) @ Lafayette Square -3 Red-necked Grebes @ Lafayette Square -Whimbrel on Herding Isl. on the north side. -Baird's Sandpiper -Red-headed Woodpecker in the first parking lot near the line of pine trees. -Black-bellied Plover in the ball field * lots of Eastern Kingbirds in Park Point around the ball field and also a heavy migration of Monarch Butterflies.
