Some time at the Rapids Lake Unit of MVNWR turned up mainly nothing out of the ordinary, except for a lone Henslow's Sparrow on Saturday. I did not find it today. He was perched on a metal pole between Carver Cty. Rd. 45 and an overgrown tire tread path that follows the eastern edge of the grassland area just south of the parking area along that road.
Some others: Grasshopper Sparrow-at least 10(some seen, some heard) along the tire tread path and 1 near the parking area along Carver Highlands Drive. Vesper Sparrow Field Sparrow Clay-colored Sparrow Bobolink Eastern Kingbird Brown Thrasher Willow Flycatcher Blue-winged Warbler Trumpeter Swan Double-crested Cormorant _________________________________________________________________ PC Magazine?s 2007 editors? choice for best Web mail?award-winning Windows Live Hotmail. http://imagine-windowslive.com/hotmail/?locale=en-us&ocid=TXT_TAGHM_migration_HM_mini_pcmag_0507
