On Sunday evening (6.03.07) from 11:30pm to 1:30am (6.04:07) early Monday
morning Susan Schumacher and I enjoyed hearing 4 Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows
vocalizing along Clay CR 27. This is NE Clay County. From MN 9 and the town
of Felton take Clay CR 34 east to its junction with CR 27. From here on CR 27
(200th St. N.) head south and 4 Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows were heard
loudly vocalizing between here and just .2 south of 140th Ave N. a little over
2 miles.

It is awesome to be enveloped in the dark out in an isolated area with the
fireflys and moon and just your auditory skills listening to birds on a warm
calm night. Without relying on your sight there is a satisfying connection to
be made in the quiet of the night as you listen in on the numerous
uninterrupted vocalizations going on in this diverse habitat.
