My husband Steve and I spent a couple of hours at Rice Lake Wildlife Refuge Thursday afternoon. Despite some good directions from Michelle McDowell, we did not relocate the Black Bellied Whistling Duck. We did see and hear numerous Sedge Wrens on the first mile of so of the road past the Visitor's Center. Bobolinks were displaying at several places along the Wildlife Drive. We checked both the Wildlife Drive and North Bog Road for the BBWD but there are many places that we couldn't get to where it could have been. I understand it has not been seen since Monday.
