Sat. 7/28 This evening there were 6 Buff-breasted Sandpipers at Jirik Sod Farms in Empire Twsp. at CR66 (210th St.) & CR79 (Blaine Ave.). Also: a Western Meadowlark singing.
The fields in the new industrial development north of Randolf have been mostly mowed and abandoned by the prairie birds reported about a month ago. I did find a flock of at least 5 Kestrels and two very active Huns (Gray Partridge).
