An Eurasian Collared Dove was heard and seen in Breckenridge. On Friday, August
23rd Artis Martinson heard a strange dove call before arising. She and Gordon
went out on their east porch to look for the bird but did not see it. Again on
Tuesday, August 28th they heard the co coo dove call. It was a misty morning.
Gordon sighted the bird on a light standard on the pole across the street,
north from their backyard. They observed the bird for all 30 minutes while it
called repeatedly. There was an answering call from about a block north of
them. They observed the bird first with their binoculars and then with their
spotting scope, thinking they might take pictures through the scope. However it
was too rainy. Artis heard an Eurasian Collared Dove again on Thursday, August
30th
