As MOU Secretary I was requested to post this message. On October 5 & 6 at the
Minneapolis Central Library at 300 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis will be
presentations about H.D. Thoreau. The presentations will be in Pohlad Hall in
the Mary and David Doty Board Room. Presentations are free and open to the
public. 7 p.m. Friday the president of the Thoreau Society will hold forth on
Thoreau's Reading of Nature and the Naturalists. Reception to follow. On Sat.
Oct. 6 starting at 10:15 a.m. will be four presentations: Thoreau's 1861
Journey to Minnesota; 11:30 a.m.Thoreau Greets Darwin; (lunch on your own) 2:00
p.m. Thoreau's Country, an illustrated lecture, 3:15 p.m. Current and Future
Thoreau Studies, a panel discussion.
