Molly Malecek and I found an apparent 1st winter Black-throated Sparrow at Lake
Winnibigoshish this evening, 9/22. The bird was feeding on the ground at the
end of Painted Turtle rd. Take Cass CR 91, also called West Winnie Road, north
from US 2 (turn at the Big Fish supper club....can't miss it). Follow 91
northwest for approx. 3.3 miles and turn right on Painted Turtle rd. (the road
sign is on the left side of 91). Follow Painted Turtle approx 1 mile to a dead
end at a campsite near the shore of Winnie. The bird was feeding near the
woods on the right side (as you face Winnie) of the campsite. Photos of the
