Hi all, I wonder who the guy from Texas was. It might have been someone I know.

I mention how far away some folks had come to see it. When I was there a woman from AZ (visiting relatives in Chicago) was there and a woman from GA (visiting her sister in Milw) and a man from TX (here for an Audubon meeting) and I mention this to my co-worker. She said "Man Birders are weird." I briefly explained listing and Life Birds but she's convinced Birders are a weird bunch. So here's the kicker. As we were leaving work that day she mentioned she had to get home and make dinner early because her husband had to do a "Hare Run" that night. Naturally I asked what that was. She explained he belongs to a running group called HASH. (Ahhh it's a drinking group with a running problem) On a full moon night they do the "Hare Run". Her hubby gets a 15 min. head start running with a 5 lb bag of flour through the streets of Madison. He has to drop the flour as he runs creating a trail so the rest of the group can follow him. Usually to some bar an hour away. I just looked at her and said "And you think Birders are weird?! Touche!"
