Found a Yellow-billed Cuckoo along the northshore just about a 1/4 mile north of the old scenic campground or at the mailbox number of 8495 or 8495 the mailbox is painted red/white/blue. I was just coming back from birding up at Knife River and Stoney Pt. when I saw the cuckoo sitting in the middle of the drive way. So I stopped my car and the bird flew up to a dead spruce tree and I took several photos of it. This is my first Yellow-billed Cuckoo I found on my own in St. Louis Co. At Stoney Point and Knife River there were many Boreal Chickadees migrating down the shore. I saw or heard 11 Boreal Chiuckadees with the largest group encountered were 5 birds at Stoney Pt. Other Birds: 6 Black-backed Woodpeckers 20 White-winged Crossbills 10 Red Crossbills 30-40 Pine Grosbeaks * Heard Bohemian Waxwings in Knife River.
