Ran across two shrikes this afternoon at the spring peeper meadow at Hwy 5 and 
41.  Based on range and time of year I have to say Northern Shrike (I don't 
have a scope and could not get close enough to see the extent of the eye 
patch.)  Ironically, I located the shrikes in the same area that I saw the sage 
thrasher last week.  I'm beginning to think that area is my lucky spot.
