Hi All-- I have been banding in Minnesota since April 2006, Imagine my surprise today (7 November 2007) when I caught the very first bird I ever banded in Minnesota, a Black-capped Chickadee, originally banded here in Northfield on 8 April 2006. I think the bird was actually glad to see me again (:-)) since it had a three-inch length of string knotted around its toes. I was able to disentangle the string and send the bird on its way.
