Hello: The February 15th - 17th Sax Zim Bog Winter Bird Festival has 120 birders registered! We have birders coming from 20 plus states.
I remember during the owl 2004-2005 season Randy Frederickson put together a form to see how much money out of state birders and local birders spent to see the owls. I would like to add a form something like that in our registration packets to the registrants. I am very curious how much money birders will spending in Meadowlands, Floodwood, Cloquet, Hibbing, Duluth and Eveleth. I am wondering if there is a talented person out there that could put together a form for our guests to fill out. If you are interested in creating a form for the festival it would be very appreciated. As we know birders sink a lot of money into economies and that showed during the huge owl irruption of 2004-05 and that could give us a huge presence in protecting the bog habitat in northern Minnesota.
