Aitkin County Sunday 1/27/08 3 SHARP-TAILED GROUSE North side of MN210 at milepost 185.5 just west of Carlton Co line (11am) N GOSHAWK on Goshawk Street! 5.1 miles east of MN 65 on Goshawk St (CR16) BARRED OWL just 1/2 mile west of Hebron Cemetary on CR18 Several flocks of SNOW BUNTINGS along Goshawk St. Sax-Zim Saturday 1/26/08 46 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS at the crabapple on CR29 0.4 mi S of CR133 (just W of Meadowlands) Note: First discovered by Mike Hendrickson a week ago, this flock has not been regular here. BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER female on Lake Nichols Rd 1.1 mi W of MN53 THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS (all males) one on McDavitt 3.1 mi N of Sax Rd, one on Lake Nichols Rd 1.1 mi W of MN 53. 5 BOREAL CHICKADEES Three on McDavitt 3.1 mi N of Sax Rd (Thanks to Mark Ochs) and two at Ben Yokel's feeder on Young Lake (Thanks to Warren Nelson) N HAWK OWL along CR7 just N of sod farms on W side. HOARY REDPOLL male at Blue Spruce Rd feeder. (also Pine Grosbeaks, 8 N Shrikes, 20 plus Evening Grosbeaks) DULUTH Saturday 1/26/08 SNOWY OWL on Airport Rd near Cirrus Designs well before light at 7am.
