Hi All-- A good morning (28 March 2008) at the bird nets (with John Holden near Dundas, Rice Co.), with 45 individual birds banded, almost all Dark-eyed Juncos. One was an interesting bird, a Slate-colored variant--see The Sibley Guide to Birds page 501 and the following website: http://www.northern.edu/tallmand/junco.html
The bird appeared to be a White-winged Junco, but the website explains why I think it was not. dan -- Dan or Erika Tallman Northfield, Minnesota http://danerika.googlepages.com/home http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika danerika at gmail.com ".... the best shod travel with wet feet" "Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes ...."--Thoreau -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
