We hiked a bit at Carpenter Nature Center (Hastings area, on the St. Croix)
and enjoyed several waves of tundra swans flying over in formation, more
than 150 total.

At Lake Rebecca (Hastings waterfront park, by the lock and dam) there was
still a great diversity of waterfowl, including
bufflehead
red-breasted mergansers
red-head ducks
canvasbacks
ring-billed ducks
scaup
