With most of the Minneapolis city lakes in Hennepin County still frozen it has required the migrating Common Loons to get creative in their choice of stop overs. Today in Bloomington on Lower Penn Lake off of 86 Street West & Penn Ave there were "17" Common Loons together taking advantage of a small area of open water. Pretty amazing that these large birds managed to find and jam into a neighborhood area so accessible.
