Took a ride on 4-13-08, there were numerous wood duck pairs, hooded Merganser
pairs, a couple golden eyes, mallards and Canadian geese in the ditches along
Hwy. 7 and Stone Lake Rd. A hawk owl was spotted by the sod farm and a long
eared owl was on Stone Lake Rd. The flock of Sharptails that frequents the
railroad tracks on Hwy. 7 by Sax Rd were present and so was the flock of Snow
Buntings that have been there all winter. I posted a picture in the "recently
scene." Northern Shrikes were a common sight, a sandhill crane was also spotted
and same with a rough legged hawk.
