A male and female Harlequin Duck were observed around 4:30PM today (Saturday) at the Vermillion River Bottoms on 10th Street in Hastings. The Peregrine Falcon that has been nesting on the old railroad bridge in Hastings for a number of years now was also observed. Numerous Pelicans in the Mississippi River (across from Lake Rebecca) as well as one in Lake Rebecca. Also saw an Owl in one of the large-sized nests on the Lock and Dam Road in Hastings (it was getting too dark out to ID what type of Owl but I would guess it's a Great Horned Owl).
