In Otter Tail County, there was an influx of some "new" birds for us
this weekend:
May 2
        White-crowned sparrow
May 3
Forster's Tern (20, north of Ottertail City on Hwy 78 where OT River
exits Rush Lake)
May 4
        Clay-colored Sparrow
        Baltimore Oriole
        Rose-breasted Grosbeak

PS: the local lakes are finally open and temps show signs of staying
above freezing
PPS: the mortality of nest box birds mentioned by others because of
the late heavy snow and persistent cold was a concern for us as well,
but we found just a single dead Tree Swallow in a nest box
PPPS: just the nicest mix of sparrows in our feeder area today for
observation/study -- Song, Chipping, Swamp, White-throated,
Lincoln's, White-crowned

THE SENILITY PRAYER: "Grant me the senility to forget the people I
never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and
the eyesight to tell the difference."
