Today (Friday) I found a Western Kingbird on the wire at US 10 and Ramsay in Ramsay, Anoka Co. I also found a Hooded Merganser with 12 ducklings in a small pond on Lake Drive between Powers and Audubon in eden Prairie.
At home earlier this week I had a Mallard hen lead seven through my yard to water and a Wood Duck hen in the water with ten new ones in front of my window. One of the ducklings was a Hooded Merganser. I assume that they came out of one of my boxes. I know that at least three of my five boxes have eggs. Two are apparantly are occupied by Wood Ducks and the third by Mergansers. Steve Weston on Quiggley Lake in Eagan, MN sweston2 at comcast.net
