This morning (Sunday) Jeanne and I were walking around Cobblestone Lake development when we saw a breeding plumage Cattle Egret walking around in the muddy areas to the west of the lake. We watched it for about 5 minutes while it was continually moving from one spot to another before flying off to the south. The Cobblestone Lake development area lies north of county 46 between Pilot Knob and Diamond Path in Apple Valley.
It was an interesting morning since we usually see about 12 species during a 45 minute walk in this area. This morning we ended up with 25 species.
