Greetings from the FOREST along the Straight, water full banks, River:
Yesterday Kirsten and I birded N.W. of Faribault along Highway 59 to
Lonsdale. At the intersection of highways 59 and 34, in the lake at the
S.E. corner, we saw an adult HOODED MERGANSER with SEVEN young, about 5-6 days
old. The roads are on the north and west side of the lake so it should be
possible to get fairly close to them for pictures.
