Thursday, Craig Mandel, Ross Dorendorf and I (Chad Gustafson) performed an evening marsh bird survey for the Fish and Wildlife Service around Long Meadow Lake in Bloomington. Some note worthy sitings was a lake with over 300 Great Egrets, seeing 5 cute Virginia Rail babies, and a Black-crowned Night Heron perched in the northern tree line of the Bass Ponds area (Hog back Marsh).
