Two adult RED-THROATED LOONS were found by Peder Svingen on the 12th at the Lafayette Square 31st Street access on Park Point in Duluth. Chris Mansfield and Peder then found a total of six RED-THROATED LOONS on the 14th at the 22nd Street access. Shorebirds have already begun to migrate through northeast Minnesota. On July 5th Shawn Zierman saw PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, LEAST SANDPIPERS, and LESSER YELLOWLEGS near the Sky Harbor Airport on Park Point. A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was seen flying southwest over Two Harbors on the 14th.
