At about 9:55 am today, the Murphy-Hanrehan White-eyed Vireo was heard
singing for about 45 seconds at the same place as reported yesterday: in the
first wide clearing, about 200 yards south of marker #29, to the west of the
horse/dog trail. It flew quickly to a small tree and across the trail.
Observers did not get a clear view of the bird, and it wasn't refound. The
GPS location is found in Dave Cahlander's recent post. Entrance to this
section of Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve is from Sunset Lake Blvd., and the
horse/dog trail is to your left after you go down the hill from the parking
lot.
