Louisville Swamp Unit
Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge

Led a trip to the Louisville Swamp Unit of the MVNWR this afternoon and
found a few species of interest. There is a good spot for shorebirds, where
the trail crosses over Sand Creek. There were several hundred Killdeer
there this afternoon and 5 other species of shorebirds. This area should be
good for a period of time and there is a nice grassy area that should be a
spot to check for Buff-breasted Sandpipers. Here are a few of the species
observed this afternoon:

American White Pelican
Sandhill Crane
Brown Thrasher
Eastern Towhee
