Sparrow Workshop October 3-5: Bob Janssen and I are hosting a Sparrow Workshop the weekend of October 3-5. Early October is the best time to find, identify, and study both migrants as well as resident sparrows in western MN and eastern SD. We will spend some time on migrant raptors and late season shorebirds but the real focus will be an intense study of the 16+ species of sparrows we expect to find here (including LeConte's and Smith's Longspur). There is a limit of 10 participants per guide. This workshop will consist of a combination of focused classroom sessions and field trips over the three days.
