94 species in the Sherburne (primarily refuge) and southern Mille Lacs County area this week, including:
* 13 shorebird species, including a single Red-necked Phalarope (all at the Princeton Sewage Ponds, unfortunately not visible from locked gate) * 10 warbler species, including Wilson's and Blackburnian (migrants, although Blackburnian do nest in northern Mille Lacs County) * White-winged Crossbills (note excellent report by Sid Stivland today, have been here 2.5 weeks in same conifers - Nathan also sighted one in southern Mille Lacs County on a telephone pole near pines earlier this week) * First Sherburne Great Egrets of year * Common Nighthawks in both counties * Two Orchard Orioles on Sherburne's Auto Tour - although anticipate they will leave shortly, if haven't already. Will probably be away from this email address until Sunday AM. Good birding to all! Al Schirmacher Princeton, MN Mille Lacs & Sherburne Counties
