We had a pair of swallows this year that nested under our deck. After the first
successful batch, the two apparently decided to go for a second one, and we
have four baby swallows under our deck - probably a few weeks old. In the
storms last night, the nest apparently blew down, and now all four babies are
sitting on a brick under our deck. It's hard to see them so helpless, with mom
and dad buzzing around trying to fend off invaders. Our backyard is fenced and
there aren't a lot of predators around, but still ... does anyone have any
suggestions for what we could do to help them? I don't think the nest will stay
back up in its original location, and even if so I'm not sure we should be
handling them to put them back. Any suggestions?
