hello to the group-I'm a newcomer to bird interest, my chief interest being
photographing them. I have heard about Hawk Ridge and have learned that next
weekend is Hawk Weekend up at Hawk Ridge in Duluth. I have the ability to
either go up for the day on the weekend or I could go a day during the week
(I'm in Mpls). Assuming relatively equal weather, I'm wondering if the weekend
up there will be much more congested with people and cars and make it more
difficult to get a good observing spot on the ridge for photo purposes. I have
never been up there and so don't know the size of the overlook in terms of auto
and people capacity. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience
with hawk weekend and/or a weekday visit to the ridge at this time of year.
Thanks for any opinions or advice you can offer as to what to expect on hawk
weekend vs a weekday. IFeel free to respond off-list to jmmet at comcast.net.
Many thanks in advance.

Jim
