Nathan & I traveled north on Saturday to Duluth & Superior, concentrating on Park, Minnesota & Wisconsin Points. Highlights included:
* Two Parasitic Jaegers (MN & WI Points) * One probable Pomarine Jaeger (distant but larger, more lethargic than Parasitic in same area) * Little Gull (first stop, believe it's the 12th Street access on Park Point) * Franklin's Gull (WI Point) * American Golden-Plovers, Ruddy Turnstone, Red-necked Phalarope, Sanderlings (first three in Wisconsin) * American Pipit (Wisconsin Point) * Six warblers (Park Point) * Snow Buntings & White-crowned Sparrows (MN Point) * And, a mystery gull in the boat access parking lot across from the soccer fields. Gull was an obvious immature, generally Ring-billed in size, but leaner, with very dark red legs, dark striping around the eye and a black tail band. Size limits our options - would appreciate input. Are there occasional immy RB's with very dark red legs? Is a Mew even a possibility on Park Point? Thanks! Al & Nathan Schirmacher Princeton, MN Mille Lacs & Sherburne Counties
