Minnesota Point in Duluth was active at times today, the snow buntings are starting to show up in fair numbers, saw a flock of approx. 30 birds zipping around the breakwater, single and double birds elsewhere. Also at the breakwater, I observed a peregrine falcon swoop in unsuccesfully on a flock of approx. 15 sanderlings. Managed to get one frame of the falcon as it started it's glide back towards Wisconsin after the aborted sanderling mission. The picture is a bit weak due to underexposure and a substantial crop, but I'll post it in the showcase section of MOU just for fun:) Enjoy the fall, Shawn Zierman. **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination.
