Black-backed Woodpecker still present on Blue Hill Trail, Sherburne Refuge this morning. It's on the western edge of the conifer trail, just as one turns north.
December 1st will mark five years of personal birding in the refuge area, observations (mine & others) since then have included: * Little Blue Heron * Plegadis Ibis * Least Tern * Great Gray Owl * Black-backed Woodpecker (3) * Acadian Flycatcher * Loggerhead Shrike * Common Raven (many sightings, up to seven birds) * Townsend's Solitaire (couple miles away) * Hooded Warblers (multiple) * Yellow-breasted Chat * Summer Tanager * Pine Grosbeak * White-winged Crossbill. Interesting "tweener" area! Good birding to all! Al Schirmacher Princeton, MN Mille Lacs & Sherburne Counties
