Craig Mandel, Doug Mayo and I visited Pt. Douglas today around 3pm. Some birds
were relocated, including:

-Harlequin Duck (see MOU showcase for a terribly blurry photo. He was very
active the entire time under the railroad bridges.)
-Glacous Gull (one 1st winter gave nice aerial views)
-Canvasbacks (2, under railroad bridges)
-Greater Scaup (one female near docks under railroad bridges)
-Trumpeter Swans (~10)
-Am. Coots (several)

Gulls were almost completely absent; only a total of about ten individuals were
present, but we did not check the farthest spot of open water. As we were
driving by Hardman Avenue in St. Paul (on the way to Pt. Douglas), there
appeared to be plenty of open water and a few gulls and ducks. (Or perhaps it
is time to go back to Black Dog.)
Although there was a nice small congregation of Common Goldeneyes, none were
Barrow's. Few Common Mergansers, only 1-2 Bald Eagles. Good birding!
