Hi All--I got a call this afternoon that a Barred Owl was perched over a local feeder. Not much light for photographs on this gray day, but I got nice photos. The owl spent a lot of time looking down at the ground below the feeder. My hosts and I did not see it take prey, but there are a lot of siskins and squirrels at the feeder. http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika/TempPhotos# Click on the photos for larger views.
Also at that page are two photos of a leucistic Black-capped Chickadee that I had in Aberdeen, South Dakota, many years ago. One would have been tempted to identify it as a Boreal Chickadee. But the young bird molted into a normally plumaged adult. (I don't think I shared these photos with you before. If so, I apologize. dan -- Dan or Erika Tallman Northfield, Minnesota http://danerika.googlepages.com/home http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika [email protected] ".... the best shod travel with wet feet" "Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes ...."--Thoreau ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
