I've posted a few photos from last weekend's trip to Sax-Zim.

Included are several of a Hoary Redpoll at the Admiral bird feeder. First,
however, is a photo of two Common Redpolls for comparison. The Common
Redpolls have proportionally longer bills and tanner strips on their dark
backs. On the other hand, in the three photos of the Hoary, you can see
that the bills are much shorter and the back streaks are grayish-white on a
dark background.

The difference in side streaking on the Common vs. Hoary Redpoll is
immediately evident in these photos. Also, however, notice that the Hoary
Redpoll's undertail coverts are basically pure white. Common Redpoll
undertail coverts are streaked (see Sibley). Finally, the Hoary Redpoll's
white, unstreaked rump is visible in the last Hoary photo.

Should I officially submit these photos to the MOU records committee or will
these do? (I assume you do agree that this IS a Hoary Redpoll.)
