Birded around Pope County Friday and Saturday. Redpolls everywhere along with
the usual Horned Larks and Snow Buntings. Locations included feeders in
Glenwood and along county roads west of Glenwood and south of Lowry. Redpoll
flocks between 25 and 50 birds foraging on roadsides, cornfields, and grassy
edges.

Pine Siskins at the feeders in Glenwood.

As usual, Horned Larks and Snow Buntings almost anywhere you go. Frustrating
if you are looking for Longspurs.

Have searched all over the place for Lapland Longspurs this winter. Lo and
behold - three birds in a mixed flock of redpolls, Horned Larks, and Snow
Buntings on my farm! Patience is rewarded.
