After Sax-Zim, we stopped up at Enger Tower, to visit with Karl Bardon and
hawk watch for a bit. We saw one Bald Eagle, as well as some Common Redpolls
and American Crows that flew past our line of sight. Two Glaucous Gulls
could be identified at the treatment plant from the hawk watching site, and
all three species of Mergansers could be observed from the site as well
(Hooded Merg, Common Merg, and Red-breasted Merg). If you've never been up
to the enger tower hawk watch, I recommend stopping by at least once - the
view is pretty cool (overlooking west central Duluth, in addition to Canal
Park).

We finished today's birding adventure by heading down to Canal Park, and
gull/waterfowl-watching. We had a fantastic afternoon down at Canal Park,
with observations including:

American Black Duck
Mallard
Common Goldeneye
BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (drake, still hanging around)
Common Merganser
Red-breasted Merganser
Bald Eagle
Ring-billed Gull (1)
Herring Gull
ICELAND GULL
Glaucous Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
Rock Pigeon
American Crow
