I got a common raven just below and east of the MSUM Science Center on the
east edge of Buffalo River State Park in Clay County at about 10:30 this
morning. I first heard its croaking calls and then about 30 seconds later I
saw it come in low from the northeast. It circled over a couple of times
and then disappeared off to the east. I continued to hear it call for a
couple of minutes after it disappeared from view. I got good looks at it -
a large black crow-like bird with a long wedge shaped tail, large bill,
making its distinctive croaking calls.

This is only my second raven for Clay County and my first since the early
90's.
