Note on the official outing of the Sioux Falls Bird Club today. After
splitting into two groups at Grass Lake, the SFBC folks doing the Wall Lake
return route discovered FOY W. Meadowlark, Turkey Vulture(very early) (at
the city landfill) Ring-billed Gulls, and an excellent leucistic Canada
Goose. The endless streams of Snow Geese did not stop even when I entered my
home. If your area does not get the thrill of seeing or hearing the hundreds
of thousands of these harbingers of Spring, a brief video is below. Also see
a photo of the leucistic goose.
The Snow geese seemed to be very widespead in their groups this year, with
some even over the western edge of Minnesota.
Go to www.leifericson.org/sfbc for slide show of the trips highlights.
Mark will post a complete list of species, including his group's return
sightings.
