Hi everyone,

The Mute Swan was absent tonight. Anyone wondering about coming here for it,
but waiting to see if it shows up again, let me know and I can e-mail you if I
see it again rather than constantly posting and re-posting.

As far as migrants go, I had what I believe was a smallish white-phased Snow
Goose at Wells tonight. The bill was longer than a Ross' petite bill, and the
size was larger than the Mallards in the area. I have found that Ross' Geese
are just slightly larger than Mallards, kind of like Cackling Geese. Also new
tonight were a few Buffleheads and a couple of Greater Scaup. The latter I
studied for awhile because I just want to be sure, and felt pretty comfortable
calling them so.

I got a bonus when I got home. My wife was out in our apt. building parking
lot talking to our manager, and rather than go inside, I stayed outside with
her because I had her keys (and it's SOOOOOO difficult going indoors on a day
like this!), and a Turkey Vulture flew over! BONUS!

My youngest daughter has decided to start keeping a life list, and it's been
very fun helping her with that. I think she went over 50 tonight!

Good birding!
