Photographs from Rice Co., Wells Lake, yesterday, 16 March 2009. http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika/RiceCoBirding#
The Ross's Goose was seen independently by Gene Bauer, Dave Bartkey, and John Holden and me. We all thought it looked a bit large. The photo shows, however, no grinning patch and a relatively short bill and rounded head. So it COULD be of hybrid origin, but, all things being equal and not having a genetic testing kit along, John and I are content to call it Ross's.
