Hello Minnesota birders,
 
We've got most of our routes filled for the 2009 Western Great Lakes Owl 
Monitoring
Project!  Volunteers survey their nine-mile route once between April 1 and 15, 
stopping
at one mile intervals and listening for calling owls.  Details are available on

Doing a survey is a great excuse to get out and go owling while making a 
valuable
contribution to owl research.  We need a few more volunteers in order to 
achieve 100%
coverage on our routes.  
 
Rumor has it that the Wisconsin routes are all full, and we've had a bit of a
border-battle going on for filling the most routes.  We don't want THEM to 
out-do us,
do we?  Tap into your statehood pride and consider the list below to see if 
there's a
route near you that you'd like to take on...
