Today at 1:30 PM, I saw and photographed a Peregrine Falcon. The bird was banded - a green band on the left, pink band on the right. Location was on the south side of Mill Pond (downtown Austin) near the playground area. First sighting in the air, then in a tree just off the walking trail and then on the ground between the tree and the playground equipment feeding on a fresh kill (Lesser Scaup). I left about 3:00 PM while the bird was still present. I posted a picture on MOU Recently Seen.
