Don & Co., Here's the highlights of my birding weekend. American Woodcock - Saw my first of the spring at Kilen Woods on Friday. Interestingly, I received an email inquiry about this species earlier in the same day asking if I had seen one this spring. Had an adult Cooper's Hawk in the roadside ditch along Hwy 86 north of Lakefield. It was feeding on a Northern Flicker. I got a good enough look to see the red eyes :)..... Enjoyed seeing some Hermit Thrushes in the yard of my new place north of Lakefield. Again, the first of the year for me. My guess is that it only gets better from here. Looking forward to it.
