Late yesterday afternoon, I followed the commotion sounds of the
local crows and found a Great Horned owl in the MAC near my home.
I had to go off the path and got fairly close before crunching dry brush,
and scaring them all off.
It was interesting to observe those dang crows-boy they have guts!
One was sharing the branch with the owl and continuously pecked at the poor guy.
Besides the 'ole "patience of a priest", I am now adding to my repertoire,
"patience of an owl".

Other observations yesterday:

Northern Flicker (1)
Yellow Rumped warblers (10+)
Blue-Winged teal (3)
Juncos (few)

And bathing in the pond:

Goldfinches
Red Winged blackbirds
pair of House Finches

to my surprise, a M Hairy Woodpecker was IN the mud, checking it out!

Happy birding!
